this is really the best place around out of New York City for sushi..I have been a customer here for the past 20 years or so and personally know the chef owner Masa Sato...he is a dedicated worker who is truly passionate about the quality of his ingredients and food. This restaurant is his life and he is very serious about providing the best to everyone. I have never been disappointed here from any meal in all the time I have dined here. Try the specials they are always interesting.

Kotobuki started our sushi love affair! We travel 1/2 hour to get there! No one beats Masa and his sushi. My husband's Maguro is always vibrant red, sweet, perfect. He gets 10 pieces, always. The Tobiko is perfect sized portion and never falls apart on me. I also like the Hokki Gai (pink clam), which is sliced at perfect size and place. The Rainbow Roll is another favorite, always consistently good with nice fish selection. Shrimp Tempura roll is always large and fresh. The rice is ALWAYS perfect consistency and the amount of wasabi added is just right. Temperature of the sushi is consistently perfect. TRY THE SPINACH DUMPLINGS AND EDAMAME (soy beans). Masa and his team are right on, EVERY TIME. No doubt about it, the best suhi around. Go for sit-down, delivery never quite as good. Tiny place, zero atmoshpere, but who cares w/ sushi this freakin' good!!

Kotobuki is hands down the best Sushi in Stamford. The decor is nothing special but there is a dining room with tables and candles, it's not just an offshoot of the kitchen. The sushi is always fresh, always tasty and very reasonably priced. I've heard that the head chef is actually the owner which is why everything tastes as good as it does, his pride and success are on the line.
