The Stamford Museum and Nature Center fosters regional art, natural sciences, and history through an array of indoor and outdoor attractions, including an otter pond, a working rural farm, an observatory, and a planetarium. Families especially love the Animal Embassy, where exotic animals from around the world receive a special home. The Center resides on 118 acres of forests, streams, ponds, and other habitats about 20 miles west of downtown Bridgeport, near North Stamford Reservoir.
